TBH Dev Note #1 - Preparing the Plaguelands Update

Hello, this is the < TBH: Task Bar Hero > development team. A number of issues were discovered in the game over the past while, and as we worked through them, our content updates ended up being delayed. We understand that many of you who have been waiting for an update have felt frustrated without knowing where development stands. That is why we decided to write this post and share TBH's current development status and what we have been preparing. We would like to walk you through how the content planned for the next update came together, and give you a rough look at what we are building right now. (Please note that this content is still in development, so the final version may differ from what is described in this dev note.)

1. Preparing the Update

The goal of this update is to give players who have run out of things to aim for a fresh set of content and a renewed reason to farm items. After much discussion, we decided to prioritize the content we could deliver the fastest. That said, we recognize that the volume of content in this update may feel a little modest, so we are also working to bring you the Season 1 update as soon as possible after the September update.

2. Update Highlights

The September update will include the following four features:

• Plaguelands : A new stage type

• New Items : Level 90 items, plus new Unique Stats (about 20 kinds)

• New Runes : New rune types, and additional runes for existing types

• Skin System : A system for changing your characters' appearance

3. Plaguelands

Plaguelands is a new stage type designed to offer a tougher challenge, and to give the powerful players who conquer it a greater chance at higher-tier items. In lands consumed by the plague, monsters grow far more savage, and plague-mutated monsters appear. Facing enemies with greater HP and movement speed will require thorough preparation.

• Plaguelands can be entered from Nightmare difficulty onward, and challenging it consumes Corruption.

• Corruption accumulates in proportion to your play time, and can also be obtained by corroding items in the Cube.

• As long as your Corruption remains above 0, you can keep battling stronger enemies in the Plaguelands for a chance at high-grade items.

• You can set the difficulty of the Plaguelands yourself (Plague Intensity). The higher the Plague Intensity, the stronger the monsters become, but the better the treasure chests you can earn.

• Plague Intensity will be divided into multiple tiers, and clearing a lower tier will qualify you to challenge the next one.

• Using the Corrupted Soulstone obtained in the Plaguelands, you can also take on the Plagued Act Bosses, far more formidable versions of the Act Bosses.

4. Skin System

• A skin system that lets you change your characters' appearance will be added.

• The dark fantasy themed skins currently in preparation will be granted free of charge to existing players as compensation for the service issues, and will become a paid item afterwards.

• Beyond the dark fantasy theme, a variety of other skins will be added over time.

Everything introduced here is being prepared for the update in early September, and we will share the detailed update schedule again sometime next week.
